Healing Robotic Baby Seal

Panties in a Bunch: Paro - The things you learn from NPR...

So what do you do when you're stuck in a nursing home, your kids don't visit anymore, and you can't have any pets in the facility? Buy a robotic baby seal. DUH.

These go for a few thousand dollars and have extra sensory detection for light, sound, and touch. They tested the baby seal, Paro, in a Japanese nursing home for 10 months and saw improvement in patient stress levels. You can watch a video here The inventor first tested cats and dogs but people's expectations were too high. Paro was perfect because people don't really know what to expect from a baby seal.

If your panties are in a bunch about this too, you can read more on npr here.

Avoiding DTRs

[15:06] KLUTZIE: i'm still thinking of a way to say, "WHAT ARE WE?" nicely and not scarily
[15:07] KLUTZIE: seriously can u imagine me like in the middle of the movie turning to him and saying loudly with my eyes open really big, so........WHAT ARE WE?
[15:09] MissKali: hahahahaha
[15:09] MissKali: that would be the highlight of my life
[15:14] KLUTZIE: i'm sure it would

The above IM excerpt pretty much explains exactly why "girls night in" (a.k.a. the opportunity to gather and gorge ourselves on greasy pizza, fudge brownies, and pints of ice cream) exists.

Commitment and clearly defined relationships seem be to equally rare these days which is sad because from what I gather, a girl would be happy with just one of the two if she can't have both.

I've been living vicariously through my 25 year old single girlfriend for the past couple years and the greatest trouble in meeting someone appears to be not so much connecting with another person, but in maintaining that connection and understanding it for what it is. The horrible DTR ("determining the relationship" for those fortunate few that have never had to encounter the expression) is avoided like the plague and while steering clear from it leaves things up in the air and light, it needs to happen. It's like ignoring a cavity and waiting for it to reach the gum where it really hurts and too much has happened.

Time is everything. Don't waste our time. If I am the entree on your table, commit to me like I am that $$$ dish and if I'm just a small dish spinning on your lazy susan, let me know. DTRs aren't about hurting feelings, they are about being honest. So...don't get your Panties in a Bunch about it, just spell it out.

Becks

Panties in a Bunch moment: ...David Beckham....drooool...

I'm not sure if this panties in a bunch moment needs any explanation. I like soccer but he is 99.999999% of the reason I go to galaxy games. You should have seen his walk pre taking off the shirt. He gave his shirt to some girl in the vip section. I think Mariam, Yoana, and I could have taken her, she was only like 5 feet away. Yeah, we probably should have and split his shirt in three. Sigh...at least I came home with this blurry but beautiful pic.

This might be the Panties in a Bunch moment of the year. Not sure yet but it is definitely a leading contender.

p.s. If you click the image, you can see the picture in full size. ;)

Kayla

Panties in a Bunch moment : My 3 year old cousin finally making a scrunchy face.

This was our second attempt and she got it perfect. You have to keep in mind, we were using a camera that has about 38439030 flashes and so you always think it's over but the flashing really just got started. Tricky for a 3 year old, tricky for a 22 year old. :)

Basically, I guess this post celebrates kids period. So CUTE! Nom, nom, nom, nom.

R.I.P. Ruby

Panties in a Bunch moment : Ruby Dying.

Today, I was unexpectedly bothered by the passing of my beta fish, Ruby. He was only with me for 2 months but I already miss him! Lame, but I have to admit, it was surprisingly peaceful and soothing to have such a quiet desk buddy swimming around all day.

The causes of death are unknown but here are the likely reasons ordered from most likely to least likely:

1) Manny sabotaged Ruby and Taro while we were away at the co location yesterday.
2) Ruby died because he missed me and couldn't bear the hours we were apart during a normal week day.
3) Ruby was really old when I got him and he died in his sleep.
4) The chemical drops we didn't add this time mattered.

Whatever the case, I like to think he had a short but happy life and saw more of the world from the 10th floor than most fishes ever do their entire lives. This marks the first unhappy wound up moment in my blog.

Sex and the City

Panties In A Bunch today goes to the Sex and the City movie.

This was the best $9.00 I've spent in a long time. Go see it if you haven't already, even if you didn't watch the show. Amidst the ridiculously expensive shoes, clothes, and purses, the movie rings truths about friendship, love, and the journey we all have with our selves. It really isn't just a materialistic frenzy or vulgar women on the hunt for men in NYC, it'll make you laugh and love the ones you have in your life.

Yep, if you didn't have your daily serving of cheese, I think I just gave it to ya.

5 Days in Miami Beach

I failed this blog for the past several days but for good reason...partying and ad tech-ing in Miami Beach. My Panties in a Bunch since the last post is to Yoana for being the best company a girl working/partying in Miami Beach for 5 days could ask for.

Below is a tribute to our late nights in South Beach. (They're horrible but literally the only pictures we stopped to take).
